iPhone for NZ next month.

Could New Zealand be getting the iPhone as soon as next month?
[edit] The Apple New Zealand site does indeed have up that the iPhone will go on sale 11 July here. Apple Exec Steve Jobs gave another address yesterday showcasing the new iPhones. There are new versions for US$199 (8G) and US$299 (16G). I must say the pricing is a lot better than the NZ$799 it was going to cost us for the older iPhone. The new iPhones will have 3G and you will be able to download programs for it with iTunes. So, what about dates for a New Zealand release? A snippet from this page at Gizmodo covering the address says -

iPhone 3G will be available in more than 70 countries later this year, beginning with customer availability in 22 countries — Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the US — on July 11.

Just a side note: if you have jailbroken your iPod Touch (as I have) you can already add 3rd party applications such as game emulators and other cool stuff. One of the cooler apps is a guitar! It shows a fretboard on the screen with an area underneath for strumming. You put your fingers on the screen fretboard and can actually play it (not that I do it a lot, since no one else can hear but you unless you have external speakers. It might be better on an iPhone though).
